KC9KAS 4,744 #1 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) My pole barn sits on the lowest part of my property. I installed a drainage tile around the building when I built it, but rain water always seemed to make its way into the building. I added another drainage tile last fall and all seemed well the last few "normal" rains we have had.....Until last night. We got 4+ inches of rain overnight and the ground was already saturated, so water made it's way into the building again. The water isn't so bad....I just open the doors and use a squeegie and push it out. It is the mud that worked it's way under the doors that have me ticked off now! Hopefully it warms up soon and I can move the motorcycles to the house garage and the GT's outside and clean the floor properly. OK, for listening, I'm done.......... JC 1965 1,532 #2 Posted April 5, 2014 Is there any way you could install a sump pump and run a 4" plastic PVC pipe away from the barn so the sump pump could keep the water pumped away from the barn and it won't build up deep enough to get inside the barn? No, the property is just too low compared to everything that drains my way. The storm tile under the road (towns tile) isn't big enough to handle the mass amount of water flowing this way. I have to just grit my teeth and deal with it.....Or sell it!
