Sounds like you have the wrong engine as the 10,12,14,16 horse K and M series Kohlers fit under without any mods. You need to takes some pictures of the transplant candidate. I bet it has the wrong oil pan on it. You also need to know the measurement to the centerline of the PTO/output shaft for your transmission drive pulley and PTO if you plan on mowing or using any belt driven implements

Well I did the measurements with out the mounting plate so I'm gonna have to drill some holes in the frame to mount it the I called the guy I got the motor from yo see if he has the pulley he said he would have to check in the morning I'll post somr picks of the motor when I get back home

Look at the top of the engine section there is a post on engine block styles, it also shows oil pans, should give you a few ideas, with the right pan it will bolt in, except the front right corner, I have some pics on how that is done, I'll see if I can find them.

I have the pan in the top picture so there are blind holes on the bottom six to mount to the frame I'll have to check this out tomorrow

OK my oil pan dose not have the extra holes on the bottom of the oil pan the frame hole are roughly around 6inches on center so what oil pan can I use so this setup will work kinda getting desperate here

So you have the top engine/pan combination but no holes in the pan?

It might not have the ball bearings on the crank shaft that are needed for the manual PTO. Some of the other brands had sleeve bearings.

Oil pans can be swapped, I'm sure I have one I could sell you.

here are a few pics of a swap much like you are doing I did last spring in my sons B-100 when I built it I put a 8hp in it because I had it and it ran great, well now about 5 years later he wanted the bigger engine in it so we put a 12hp in, because it is a mid frame tractor much like your 8hp machine, you have to use a J bolt on the front right corner, and yes it is factory on this style frame, others the frame is a little longer and you have room to install the bolt from the bottom, and because your oil pan does not have the holes in the bottom you could J bolt both holes on the right side, here is a few pics hope they help.

Another thing you will have to address is the wiring will need to be longer, but no big deal, and the choke and throttle cables will need to be changed for ones to fit the bigger engine, and have you checked the crank diam. ?? if it's 1" your good the 8hp pulleys and PTO sleeve will fit, if 1 1/8" you will need different ones.

With the 8hp and the riser plate for it

Happy young man, now to wash it

All washed this took about 4 days but that is including painting the engine, actual time to do the swap was about 4 hours with rewiring and the other stuff needed in the swap.
