Cleat your work is amazing. My

wife has the exact same Stang.

Since your switching between

rattle cans and guns please tell us

what brand and color paint you are

using. Thanks

looks nice Cleat. I've used the bolts and lug nuts on previous rebuilds and they are definitely a good choice over the oem lug bolts. I'm already getting frustrated pulling the wheels on and off my current build with the oem bolts. just wanted to keep them on this one for some reason.

I'm enjoying the updates......

Well, I deemed the front wheels paint dry enough and mounted the tires. Went well with no paint damage.

Mounted on tractor, greased and installed plastic hubcaps.

Rears will get mounted next week (I know that sounds bad).

For some reason the later model 520 did not have these belt guides installed. The tractor had the holes punched but never tapped for bolt threads. I tapped the holes and bought a set of guides from ebay.

Guides are now installed and belt guard is reinstalled.

Both machines lined up just waiting for the hoods and fenders to come home from being painted to finish assembly.

Nice work Cleat. Where did you get the seats? The TSC near me used to carry nice seats like yours, now they carry real cheesie looking ones..

I bought mine at Princess Auto which is about an hour away because of price. TSC that is just down the road from me carries them as well but they cost more there.

Mounting pattern is not just right but drilling a hole in the slides worked. Wheel horse mounting pattern is 7.5 wide x 8" deep. These seats are 7.5 wide x 7" deep.

The only other issue is the Wheel horse arm rests do not bolt up to these seats. They sell an arm rest kit for these seats but they cost more than the seat.

Thanks, Cleat

very nice work Cleat, inspires me to get moving with mine

I think the reason the later one doesn't have the belt guides is that the drive belt is always under tension from the idler pulley whereas the early belt can flap around a lot more when the idler pulley is disengaged. Doesn't hurt to have them there though.

That could be. I removed the disengage mechanism from the early one because I never use it and it seemed to rattle all the time.

That's a great idea!    D'oh - I hadn't thought of it, but will do the same. I think the disengage may have been to take the load off the engine for starting, but obviously wasn't needed as they did away with it. Mine jumps around like mad.

thanks

Where'd you get the plastic grease caps? And you said tsc carries those seats?

Plastic grease caps came from ebay. A couple different people seem to have them there. They are not as high quality as the originals.

My original ones had the center cut out by improper cotter key installation by previous owner.

TSC in Canada carries these seats.
