Just blew up my new chain on my blower. :banghead:  I'll make another in the morning.

Geeeeez, sorry to hear that. Can  I ask what happened?

Mine goes back together tomorrow. I never even made a chain yet.

Make sure the sprocket on the drive shaft it tight and in alignment. When I replaced my chain I did so because it was too loose and ran out of adjustment. I inspected all the bearings and decided to replace them all. When I took out the drive shaft I found the sprocket was loose and wobbly. It needed new set screws and a key. Also if the bearings are worn it can cause the shaft to move side to side throwing off alignment as well.

Glen:

Early this year, same thing happened to mine. Only I could not find all of the chain to figure out the proper length.

When you pick up the chain, make sure you restock, with a can or 2 of Snow-Jet. It will increase your throw distance of the snow blower and you will have twice the fun. That is a Rob guarantee.

It would be great if one of our vendors would make up some chains for sale. I might even buy one or two as it sounds like a good spare item to have on hand.

Gentleman. Thanks for all the comments. My brother and I got the new chain on today. On inspection of everything there was no need for immediate attention and replacement. Back in service is where it needs to be. In the spring I plan on taking it apart. I guess being in new jersey The price for the chain elsewhere I could have got the chain. Maybe the tool. A six pack or case. And maybe a pack of smokes to. What the heck am I still doing here??? Lol

I will call on that Monday. Does not look like SS to me. You have me curious.

The freight is probably the shipping he was charged for the chain. He could have driven to TSC or Farm and Fleet for less.

Mike, your correct on that.My nearest TSC is maybe 45 or so miles away, honestly, never been there yet. as far as the other place you mentioned. nope New hobbies mean new places to go. Part of the adventure. A bit of time and I will get in tune.
