The 12 volts to the coil goes through the PTO safety switch and the seat switch. Are the safety switches working correctly?

The guy who owned it by passed the safety pto and the seat but i think that might be the problem.Nice tractor all I want it for is to plow and use it for the garden.what is the right way to by pass all that.

There is no right way to bypass the safety switches since they are there for your safety, but as a temporary solution to your problem, a wire directly from the (I) terminal of the ignition switch to the (+) lug of the coil will bypass both.

A direct wire should work without disconnecting anything else.

Assuming that you have a good clean set of points set to a gap of .020", a good spark plug, spark plug wire, and the correct coil, you should have spark if you have +12v at the (+) side of the coil, and the (-) side of coil connected to the condenser and points.

Temporarily connect a wire directly from the positive side of the battery to the coil and see what happens. Don't leave it connected when not running or you could burn out the new coil.

I'll throw in my .02 - I was out pushing snow with my C-101 and it started to knock and rattle ( just rebuilt this year ) spit sputter etc .... shut it down , checked the oil , carb  etc etc ....nothing wrong ...wouldn't start - turned over   ...nothing   ...... scratching my head  ........long story short the wire broke off " inside " the fuse holder coming off the solenoid .....check your fuse and wire ....

Something simple to check. Is the condenser connected to the negative side of the coil? When dealing with an inherited problem these things can bite you.

Does anyone know where I could find a complete engine rebuild kit from for the k-19 ? I absolutely love my c-195 and have had it for years. But the motor let go last fall and I want to rebuild it or upgrade the motor, any suggestions?

Hello all. I am looking for suggestions on adapting the pto from my C series tractor to a harbor freight predator 420 13hp engine. I know the predator motors are a controversial topic however it is the route I have chosen for this particular machine. The intent was to mostly use it for plowing so no PTO required but it would be handy to have. Looking to hear from someone that has successfully done the swap that may offer any advice before I attempt to transfer it over. Just looking for any general pointers that will help me along the way to make it go as smoothly as possible.

1979 c-101 nice project tractor just needs a few odds and ends, steering wheel, coil, carburetor bowl, the wiring was redone by previous owner....all 4 tires are good and hold air it goes into all gears no problem, transmission fluid has been changed, 10hp Kohler, message me or call or txt with any questions, it does run and runs well,  it’s been kept inside since I’ve had it, I would also trade for a mid mount grader blade thanks

Will the plow I am using on my C121 and C160 work on a 876?
or is the plow frame different?
      Thanks
