ih674 10 #1 Posted January 3, 2014 Heres two of my new items in the horticultural department. One is an Atco mower which i have found quite a bit of information on managed to date it etc and the other is "The Farmers Boy" walk behind tractor. A long internet search has shown nothing other than one video of one thats similar but not the same. If anyone knows anything about these farmers boys it would be great to hear. Thanks, James
meadowfield 2,740 #2 Posted January 3, 2014 I've heard of farmers boy, and even done decals for them. But never really seen many around, there's a uk forum vhgmc which I'm pretty sure the guys there will give you pointers...
C-101plowerpower 1,606 #3 Posted January 4, 2014 nice find, what engine is on the atco? villiers? Koen
ih674 10 #4 Posted January 4, 2014 At least i know where to come for decals!!! The VHGMC site has changed and requires club membership which i dropped last year, will probably re subscribe when i get to restoring them. Yes The atco is a villiers midget 2 stroke kick start! Cheers, James
meadowfield 2,740 #5 Posted January 4, 2014 Ha, I've only got the main logo, for the minute... Yes the vhgmc has lost what it had, paying to use a forum will kill it. Unless like redsquare the benefits are so good that we willingly contribute :)

C-101plowerpower 1,606 #8 Posted January 8, 2014 Yes, I'd like to see more of the UK machines too. Especially the Norlett tractors. does it have to be uk made or is european also okay? Koen
Anglo Traction 761 #9 Posted January 8, 2014 does it have to be uk made or is european also okay? Koen Gentleman (and any Ladies), If it is permissible, I personally would like to see other Garden Machinery Restorations and 'Barn Find Start Ups' on here in the Euro Non WH Tractor Related Forum. No matter where it was made and the older the better (70s back is good). James' Atco takes me back to the early 60s where we had one like his (handles were wooden though) and I earned my 2shillings a week (10pence) (40cents) Pocket Money cutting the Grass. There are also several UK Members here already who produce terrific high quality G/machinery Restorations as well as WHs. As has been mentioned, many other Forum(s) Members are not happy Bunnies. I'm in touch with several (as others are) and I would like them to become Members here and show us some of their excellent work on all sorts of Equipment. They don't own Wheel Horses (YET), but I think it could only benefit RS, the Euro Section, and the New Members themselves. We also know that there are many U.S Members that have the same interests and could relate to the different forms of equipment. As long as the Forum's Main interest is not overshadowed by it here, I think it would be great. What say you?.
meadowfield 2,740 #10 Posted January 8, 2014 good plan - would be nice to get them onto the 'Euro other' section. I did try again to fish another horse owner into joining last night - but he's a payed up member and likes the other stuff more - Colwoods and Simars.... (john webster for those wondering)
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #11 Posted January 8, 2014 Whatever works for you guys is fine with me. I'll be happy with where ever you post pics of the fine machines from across the Atlantic.
