flyovrcntry 115 #1 Posted December 15, 2013 Sitting here reflecting on the loss of my mother who passed recently. She sufferd from alzeimers and has been bed ridden for the last two years. This disease is the cruelest thing I have ever witnessed. To take someone who has raised 8 kids and rob them of their dignity and eventually their very lifes memories is so cruel. My sister who has cared for my mom for the past 8 years has taken a emotionl and physical strainl that she will never recover from. I sit here and reflect on the sacrifices my mother made for me,and realize she done that for 7 other children too. My god how did she do that ? I do take comfort in knowing she is in a much better place and finally at peace.

JimD 3,347 #3 Posted December 15, 2013 I had a very good friend who developed this awful disease so I've seen a little bit of what you've seen. My heart goes out to you.

Wheel-N-It 2,976 #5 Posted December 15, 2013 My heart goes out to you and your family. My Mom died this year from brain cancer. It too is an awfully dehumanizing way to leave this life on earth. I take some comfort knowing they are no longer suffering.
