wheeledhorseman 579 #102 Posted February 15, 2014 I think we'll all be paying for this in one way or another Neil. Meanwhile in Romsey, a kind of ironic photo of the perhaps aptly named 'World of Water' This is the car park, beyond is (was) a large and impressive display area of outdoor ponds and water features etc. I don't think many of the Coy Carp etc will still be in residence when the flood subsides. At last some sand bagging has been done and one of these DIY flood barriers has gone up to prevent the water coming any further into the Town as the River Test continues to rise. We're part of Test Valley Borough Council based in Andover and according to their local rag this week sandbags were available to all residents at risk in the Andover area. Here sandbags had run out according to the same people. Fortunately our MP managed to blag 4000 bags for Romsey from the National Gritting Service whom I've never heard of before. The army turned up as well to deploy them. With today's storm the place is on high alert and more residents were warned to be prepared for an evacuation. Apparently a surge is expected as a result of sluices being opened higher up river (no doubt to protect Andover!) My cousin in Scotland has a good sense of humour and sent me this which I thought I'd share. Further flooding South of the border may do away with the Scottish Referendum!!!
