Sparky-(Admin) 23,096 #2 Posted November 30, 2013 Neat old truck. You would need some real long ramps to get tractors in the bed tho . Mike...........
Rollerman 290 #3 Posted November 30, 2013 I like old iron, but it might be cheaper to pull that truck with a Horse. Is it diesel or gas?
Theswampthing 8 #4 Posted November 30, 2013 It's a gas job, 345. Think he's gonna use it for a service truck. Welder, burning outfit, compressor, ect. He collects all kinds of old junk. Ford's mostly, but he really likes this one. I'm trying to figure out where I can put my dad's 68' Chevy PU so I can get it roadworthy.
RMCIII 838 #5 Posted November 30, 2013 Ha..Brings back memories. We used (4) grain trucks when harvesting corn and beans. (1) was an 80's GMC w/Detroit Diesel, 10 spd. (2) were Chevrolets that had 454's w/ reverse shift pattern dual range transmission. The final was an International Loadstar, year was unknown, but had the 345 V-8/ w - 8spd. trans. No power steering, or a/c, but truly was a fun truck to drive. We nicknamed the truck "binder", or "turd whirler". What a great grain truck to drive.

AMC RULES 37,195 #8 Posted December 1, 2013 Yeah, I'm thinkin' PennDOT maybe?
Theswampthing 8 #9 Posted December 1, 2013 Yeah, I'm thinkin' PennDOT maybe? It's possible. I know he told me...borough truck I'm thinking. He did buy an F-350 from NJ DOT a few years back at auction. Could be where he got the bed from, but that doesn't ring a bell. He also has 2 F-650's. One is a boom truck and the other was a lumber yard truck.
