squonk 43,429 #2 Posted November 18, 2013 Any numbers on the cover. I can't believe Napa couldn't get it with the right numbers.
squonk 43,429 #3 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Mike, The best I can come up with is a Napa VR 897. 12 volt curved bracket. It was used on many Garden Tractors. It pays to have old Napa books around. The Buffalo DC shows 1 so your Napa should be able to get it in a couple of days. They should be able to show you a pic of it. It isn't cheap!! Just think, If I could have drove last week, it would be my problem not yours! Good luck! Edited November 18, 2013 by squonk
fourwheels0 191 #4 Posted November 18, 2013 squonk thanks. my napa showed 4 in the book but no real good pics of it. i guess it goes with the territory of dealing with older tractors. i may had made a mistake buying this but oh'well it's here now. way too many hoarders here in Virginia that won't give up info or parts. squonk 43,429 #10 Posted November 19, 2013 Great info Martin! Thanks heck of a savings too! I've been building a data base for a few years on old tractor / ind. eq. parts and will enter this in. The Delco # is D648 The Napa # is VR
Martin 2,133 #11 Posted November 19, 2013 Yeah, you gotta pay close attention to the 3 or 4 terminal criteria in the specs but this seller usually has them all the time. I first got one of those close to 2 years ago and still good. I have one on my 1057 as well. The best part is plug and play right out of the box. I really don't have the patience for setting up used ones any more. These regulate charge good and everything works as it should..... you can swap out an original type cover with the delco logo stamped in it and they look just right. I did this with my 1057, painted the old cover and put one of the labels I got terry to do on it and good to go!!!!!!
