fireman 1,022 #26 Posted November 3, 2013 Karl I used Bootcamp and am running XP on my Mac. Not as a virtual machine but actually loading it at start up. The Mac actually runs XP better and faster than any PC I ever had and I had a lot of them!
nylyon-(Admin) 7,878 #27 Posted November 3, 2013 I use VMWare Fusion for a lot of reasons. First, it houses the Linux test system for RedSquare. I can make very quick backups, perform changes like major upgrades and if it doesn't work, I can back it out in minutes. I also have loaded up the Windows XP, 7 and 8 so I can test issues that members have when accessing RedSquare. Unfortunately I have to use Windows for work, although we do have a Mac support, but it's buy your own and I don't want to do that for work. I've been struggling with upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1. Apparently there's a LOT of people having problems with this upgrade not working. The biggest issue with Windows is that they need to support so many different pieces of hardware, it's almost impossible to do it all well.
