Agage1 83 #1 Posted October 15, 2013 I pulled the vandoes anyone know of an easier way to pull the starter out of a Briggs vanguard 18. I have mine on the bench and I can't seem to get to the mounting bolts. It looks like you have to pull the flywheel to get to the starter bolts
Fordiesel69 233 #2 Posted October 16, 2013 What does "pulled the vandoes" mean? On the older L-head twins you can loosen the bolts and leave the one in the hole, and remove the starter. On the vanguards, I beleive you will indeed need to remove the flywheel. Use the proper method to pull it, not a hammer!.
