Lambrecht Auction Photos....

Recommended Posts

A buddy and I went all three days.  Friday was preview, with the auction on Saturday and Sunday.  Estimates vary, but a consistent number we hear is around 12,000 people.  Some say as many as 20,000....but i think that's pushing it.  I would definitely say it's well over 10,000.

There are so many stories I have from talking to people all over the nation.  This was truly a once in a lifetime auction.  I won't go into many more details than that, I'll let the pictures show the rest.

I'm sure there are way better pics online....but this is what I took with my phone.

If i find more interesting pics I took, I'll post them.

ENJOY!!!

Based on that price, the '69 Chabelle must've been toast.   :scared-eek:

I'm surprized that the auction house didn't pay someone to at least blow off the dirt with a powerwasher.....you know, try to get em as eye appealing as possible. Either way it looks like it would have been an awesome event to watch!

Thanks for the pics and info.

Craig, the Chevelle was kinda toasty, it needed a roof as something fell on it. One guy bid up to 25 grand on it because he needed the motor and was gonna part out the rest. I think he would have lost some money on that deal.

I think they left the cars dirty as not to reveal blemishes etc. It sorta keeps the bidder Guessing as to what he is getting instead of Knowing what he is getting. I saw an early 70's Chevy long bed pickup in the auction that had only 2 miles on it. Sadly, this one was absolute toast! I don't know what it went for...

the 69 Chevelle SS 396 with 78,000 miles went for $27,000 was a joke . the car was trashed. The exact same car , mint , lower miles , number matching , running and driving just sold on flea-bay for $23,000 . and a same mint original Vette pedal car just sold  for $5000 .

Here is the chevelle on ebay . lower miles on it too  - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Chevy-Chevelle-SS-396-Matching-Number-/130985672709?forcerrptr=true&item=130985672709&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e7f5ac005&nma=true&si=PR3KbXqLG6s8kuML7O%252BSopegfgM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

That is amazing that most of those cars are new or low miles I wish I had money to buy stuff like that I would have to drive it though

Other than that dent in the hood that Cameo truck was MINT. While we were watching the show on T.V. my wife asked me, if I were able to buy the Cameo would I drive it? She told me you wouldn't be able to drive it you'd have to save or preserve it. I laughed and I told her B.S. for who? A future collector or future generations who probably won't appreciate it? Nope, light up a cigar, roll the windows down and crank up some Cash on the radio and away we go...Life is grand, and its too short..

My favorite buyer was the guy who bought the MINT 68 CHEVY wagon for 30 grand. When asked what was he going to do with it he said, drive it! He owns a repair service and he is going to taxi his customers around in it and use it as a parts picker upper. Awesome.
