New (to me) truck

Recommended Posts

Sold my 04 Dodge 2500 4x4 crew cab (HEMI) a couple weeks ago and it felt really weird to not have a truck in the driveway....I mean what if a great Wheel Horse deal cropped up and I had no way to get it??

So after two weeks of crawling thru all the "Cars for sale " websites, buying a CarFax subsciption, and looking at a few junkers I ended up buying this. Its an 05 Dodge Dakota, 4x4 crew cab with a V-8 and an automatic tranny.  Has all the power options, AC, good tunes...etc...  She has just over 92000 miles and I paid cash so NO TRUCK PAYMENTS :woohoo:  !!

Mike-

Nice looking truck !! I used to have one as a company car in my old job with the V8 in it. I think it was older like 2002 or 2003 ish. Lots of pep but it sure was rough on the wallet for gas. Good thing back then I did not pay for the fuel rather the company I worked for did. Maybe that is why I did not drive it like I was paying for gas.... lol

:woohoo:  I have an '09 just about like it only V6 with 2 wheel drive. It is my third Dakota ( '87 and '96 before it) and I was sad to see the model go away. It will pull the GT-14 with front loader and box blade ( 2400 lbs with trailer ) up our mountain with no problem and gets about 22 MPG on trips, not too bad. Got about 200,000 out of the other two and now that I'm retired and don't drive as much this one should last as long as my need for a truck.

Good luck and happy motoring.              :USA:

The 05's have a 5 speed automatic tranny so that will improve the mileage some over the 02 or 03 trucks which had 4 speed auto's. My 2500 was getting me just over 11mpg with out a load, would love to see 15-17 from this one.

Very clean looking indeed. :handgestures-thumbupright:  I'd say nice score for sure...especially when there's no payment book to go with it.

Yep, 2" receiver and hookups for both 7 pin and 4 pin trailers. Already towed my small trailer up into Mass to get some cedar furniture.
