Can anyone tell me what carbs are usable on a K-241 AS .  I think the original may be a Carters #26, but at some point they switched to a Walbro. Any links to a carb cross ref list ?

Yes, the Carter #26 is the original, but it was replaced by Walbro due to EPA regulations.

In the manuals section, under engines/Kohler, you will find this file:

Kohler Carburetor Ref Manual TP-2377E.pdf

The cross reference guide is in that manual.

The   A  means it has a special oil pan.      The   S   means electric start.

The blocks and pans are NOT interchangeable between the K241S and the K241AS.

Have you considered taking the block to a machine shop and having them drill the bolt out correctly?
