Kai Thomsen 17 #1 Posted September 22, 2013 Hi I picked up a tiller for free, i don't know anything about it though..i have never seen one like it before, maybe someone here knows if it's any good ? The ID plate says "made in U.K by Wolseley" Titan GT Mine is missing the engine, but the owner said it had a 7 or 8hp Briggs&Stratton. I found a picture on the internet of one that looks just like the one i picked up: http://peecee.dk/upload/view/410837 All gears seem to work ok (reverse / forward hi-lo) tines look ok too, and i got two 8" wheels with AG tyres for the tiller also (just like the ones in the picture) Is it a good tiller ? maybe worth restoring with a "new" engine ? Anglo Traction 761 #2 Posted September 22, 2013 Hello Kai, Lots of info available on History and parts here in UK. Here is one link for you. Plenty more if you need them. I believe Manuals are also still available. http://merrytiller.co.uk/merry-tiller-history.htm

Tom. 70 #5 Posted September 27, 2013 Hi, I have a few wolseley tillers and they are great little things, very well made! I haven't seen one with the ags like that before, looks very strong. Let us know what you do with it! Tom
Don1977 605 #6 Posted October 1, 2013 That was a common thing over here to replace the tines with wheels on the merry tillers to pull small trailers. Most I've seen were home made metal disks with angle iron cleats welded on.
Kai Thomsen 17 #7 Posted October 11, 2013 I'm not sure what i am going to do with it.. i need an engine for it, and finding a 7hp briggs engine is almost impossible..even a 5hp is not easy to come by. For now i'm just putting it aside in the shed and see what comes up later on. I was thinking of using only the gearbox and tines, and build something like the 36" wheel horse tiller from it, and see if it could fit on my Wheel horse, belt routing should be easy to do, but then again.. the 8hp kohler Magnum is probably not strong enough to do any useful work with a tiller.
