Shuboxlover 481 #1 Posted September 20, 2013 My plans for winter snow removal going forward are going to be a little different than in years past. For the past 3 or 4 years I have used a 520 with 2-stage blower and a C-160 auto with a 48" blade for pushing. Well.....I just bought a snow cab for my D-250 from a guy in Indiana and plan to use the D-250 for pushing snow. I have the 59" blade, but I need to do a little work to it, nothing major but it's been sitting for years outside (thanks to the PO). My D-250 is (I think) a 1980, it has the dual hydraulics up front. Anyway....here are my questions... I want to be able to power angle (along with the power up-down that I already have) I have 2 cylinders and both only have one hose. Am I correct in thinking that the cylinder for the power angle needs to have two hoses going to it...one to "push" and one to "pull"???? Is the cylinder for the power up down o.k. if it only has one hose, I assume that the weight of the blade pushes the fluid back in the system when I want the blade to go down, but this would not enable me to have down pressure? Lastly....Are these cylinders repairable, or do I just need to buy new ones if the seals are bad??? Thanks in advance!!! Tyson
Shuboxlover 481 #2 Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) I think I found out my answer....I have an "older" D-250 blade....what I'm wanting to do is standard issue on a "newer" D-250 blade....It looks like I can convert my old blade to a newer style but I need a couple parts.... #14 Lift Bracket 252294 #25 Cylinder Support 252297 It's a LOOOOOOOONG shot, but if anyone has a junk one of these blades laying around that has these parts on it, I would be VERY happy if I could buy them off you!!! https://lookup3.toro.com/Ill/1x/5/5362/22R10013.gif Edited September 20, 2013 by Shuboxlover
KC9KAS 4,744 #3 Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) Using 2 single action cylinders will work to angle the plow. One cylinder will push to turn it to the right, as the other cylinder retracts, and when you apply pressure to turn to the left, the cylinders will react the opposite.....assuming the hose(s) and valve(s) are connected properly. I used a 10' MEYER and a 7 1/2' MEYER plow for years and each one had 2 single action cylinders for the power angle.
