E-Tank question

Recommended Posts

Wishin4a416

I think I get the gist of an E tank but have a question.

What are the ingrediants used?

I have a nice Steering Wheel I would like to get off of a shaft to use on the 160 and dont want to damage either.

Thanks

Jack

Check out this site for e tank info: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/andyspatch/rust.htm

Don't think would risk a steer wheel immersion but it may work without separating wheel covering.

I have used this method for hard plastic wheels with metal spokes and it works well.

For something like that I'd try using Evapo-Rust.  I've used it on a lot of smaller stuff with good results and you can also soak a paper towel with it and put it where you need to remove the rust and cover it with plastic to keep it from evaporating.  It also says its not harmfull to other types of metals and plastics.  I get it by the gallon from Tractor Supply, but Auto Zone, Advance Auto, Harbor Freight, and several others have it also.   Stewart
