grinchsr 599 #1 Posted August 17, 2013 I recently picked up a 92 312-8. All the test lights work when activated by there individual switches but the test switch does not. The connector on the end of the test switch harness was destroyed by battery acid. I am looking to direct wire this area. I have a red and gray wire coming up to the connector and 3 black wires coming from the test switch. What do I connect without burning out my board?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,508 #2 Posted August 17, 2013 Black wires are usually ground wires. Is it possible they were grounded to the chassis by the mounting hub on the switch? The red wire should have battery power all the time so the switch is required. The gray wire sends power to the circuit board when the switch is closed. Odd that this part of the wiring is not in the detailed wiring diagrams in the Demystification Guide but is in the owner manual.
