truckin88 104 #1 Posted August 9, 2013 Guys I am looking at buying a snow plow for my f250 super duty any recommendations?
nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #2 Posted August 9, 2013 I don't have one on my truck, but a LOT of guys around here have either Fisher or Western. If it were me, I'd pick either of the 2, with preference on the closest dealer for parts.
Wheelhorse84 87 #3 Posted August 11, 2013 Fisher all the way. I run a Ford store in mass and that's all we use and it's what all my customers ask for.
truckin88 104 #4 Posted August 11, 2013 Interesting I have been stopping and talking with landscappers they are all swearing by the boss, a few like fisher. Fisher and western (and I believe blizzard) are the same company
Wheelhorse84 87 #5 Posted August 11, 2013 Every truck I see with a used red plow ie western, boss are all rusted out. The plow frames and lifts are not even close to as heavy duty. Maybe it's due to location. I'm in mass.
smoreau 658 #6 Posted August 11, 2013 I have a Western pro plus 7 1/2' plow with factory removable 6" wings on it. This has been a very heavy duty plow that is built to last!!! It was only a little more $ then the standard duty plow. These are built for commercial use and are not for any 1/2 ton truck! They weight around 900 lbs for the small ones and go to 10' wide for parking lot use. I have had mine for 8 years and I have not had any thing but routine maintenance to do to it. I looked at several different brands, nothing came close to this plow for quality and easiness to take on and off your truck!! That was key for me as mine gets removed and reinstalled often during the winter.
Forest Road 594 #7 Posted August 12, 2013 We have a place in the Adirondack Park. The majority of plows are Fisher and Western.
