Hedgehogs as pets , or, yes I'm out of my freaking mind

Well we have a new member of the family. Living in a house full of females: wife, daughter, 2 dachsund *******, a doe rabbit, and probably the darn lizard, I was out voted when it came to getting a pet hedgehog.      " Aw they're adorable." So here's  Achilles the Hedgehog. The critter is cute but as cuddly as a pineapple, or wire brush, or scrub brush, etc.

I didn't realize that there were Hedgehogsin the US.  At home (New Zealand) you see them reasonably often, and sometimes they get a little tame, but I've never seen one as a pet.

Actually it's an African Pygmy Hedgehog from a nearby breeder. A present from her boyfriend. I'm not sure if we have them in the good old US of A.

We didn't have Dandelions or European Starlings either, til someone brought them over. Maybe "Achilles" will make a neat pet. Then of course, he will need a friend. Ah yes. A female would be nice. Oh look. They had babies. Aint  they cute. Then its, "Dad, the hedgehogs got out". Next thing you know? We DO have hedgehogs in the USA
