On 3rd July 1938 the A class steam train "Mallard" broke the world speed record for a steam train.

 

 

 

Driver Joseph Duddington, Fireman Thomas Bray and Inspector Sid Jenkins.

 

In York Railway Museum.

A class "Dwight D. Eisenhower" from a Halifax, Nova Scotia museum.
