Decal find - I've got a horse

Recommended Posts

Lagersolut

Found this when I started on the sheet metal yesterday , haven't seen it anywhere else , was on the rear fender under the seat at the saftey switch painted over .

Figured I'd share it, don't know if Vinylguy has seen this one or would be intresed in reproducing it.

it's not an uncommon decal, I have this on file - guessing Terry does too.

If you have it made I'd be interested in buying one , what  I posted can't be salvaged to look decent .

I see you listed the air cleaner decals ( Kohler)  , I'll be interested in a set of those too.

Let me know

Actually the design is a bit different from the ones I have.

Mine are designed as a pack of 4. Two 2 x 4 inch and Two 3 x1.5 inch

Terry, the one he posted above was the later version of that decal... it's from the mid 70s or so.  The one you've already done is a mid-late 60s one I think.  Wheel Horse made a dealer sign that was like 18 inches high x12 feet wide of that "Wheel Horse of course!" text and font at the bottom around the same time.

The mid 70's would make sense, the tractor is a '79 C-101 , used this thing for 20 years and never noticed a decal was painted over under the seat springs, actually had another one I tried to salvage for some pictures couple of days ago, it was on the left side panel that covers the lift latch plate , was triangle in shape, black text , silver background and it was an aluminum foil type material  decal-  I couldn't even get enough out to see what was ....I got a few letters and I can only guess it might have been the old dealer sticker from Inerst Auto where the unit was purchased ....all that is ....is a wild guess .

Any other ideas ?

Black and silver triangle would be the OPEI decal.

Terry has those too.... http://www.redoyourhorse.com/servlet/the-189/1-OPEI-OUTDOOR-POWER/Detail

I think they changed over the years too.. Yours might look more like this.

Bryan, When you bought a Wheel Horse the owners manual (at least in 76) came with a form or note on back page of OM you could fill out, send in and get that decal. Bad thing, didn/t get my WH till 81. Course everyone may have known/seen that already on there book. Always wanted one and good friend Jim specialwheelhorse gave me one, is one of my prized items.
