handymann 1 #1 Posted June 11, 2013 I have a 36" deck on a B-80, Always kept inside, Deck was making noise so tore it down, and now have a question, Is there a right way to mount the spindles in the housings. One side seems to be longer than the other, and one side has an indented ring around it. As it is all apart, I have no way to tell.
handymann 1 #2 Posted June 12, 2013 I did some investigation and one end is indeed .030 longer than the other. It would appear the short end goes down and the long end goes up. Otherwise the blades will not lock down.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,530 #3 Posted June 12, 2013 Suspect you are describing the 103119 bearing/shaft assembly. Look at this file Click on the 36" decks Click on a line with the "C" spindles. That will open a page that has the "I" design. Look at that bearing 103119. ----Groove up---- Is that what you are needing? Garry
handymann 1 #4 Posted June 12, 2013 That is exactly right. So I was guessing right. Thanks so much for the link.
