Look what followed me home....F250

Well I had the 2012 ram QC and all was good till my wife discovered the baby seat would not fit in the back. So we figured we would just use her CR-V, until I found this deal in NJ and I could not pass it up. 2009 F-250 V-10 Crew Cab cabelas edition FX4, Ford  Certified pre owned (warranty etc). Only 32700 miles on it. Came with the leer top (which I might get rid of) and all service records, religiously serviced at Ford. It sat on the dealers lot since Feburary despite the carfax and oasis reports being clean, and service records, the V-10 is a fantastic motor but must have scared some. What people don't realize fuel mileage is just about equal to the 5.4. Since this truck was their longest in inventory I got it for an amazing price and a great trade in on the Ram. I only drive 10 minutes to the train station, so my yearly mileage is under 8K, especially now as I work 6 or 7 days most weeks, so the V-10 gas mileage was not to big of a concern, and it really is not the bad.

BTW my next look what followed me home should be a baby girl....any day or week now!

Funny, got my F250 in Jersey too...  Hold onto that cap for a little bit, if you're going to use it as a family car, it'll come in handy!

As much as I like chevy, the new fords are not a bad looking truck. Don't know if I'd ever own one, but I don't mine the look of them. :hide:

We have an E350 at work with the V10.  It's at 392000 miles presently and still going strong.  The engine is perfect, but the rest of the van is pretty worn out now.

We don't log the mileage on the van anymore, but when it was new it would do better than 17 mpg on the highway with about a ton and a half of junk in the back.  Granted, the van is a different shape and is only 2wd, so might not be a parallel to your truck.

Nice truck.

Steve

If it's any consolation, my F250 is only getting 23 MPG on the highway, and is down to about 16.5 MPG around town.  Of course it drops to 13-14 when towing the 5th wheel on the highway.

Nice pick em up truck Will. In a truck that big I'll take 13-14 mpg all day long! Get it out on the highway and let it stretch its legs, you'll get some good mpg's out of it then.

You wont have any problem with the V10. We have a few going thru our service dept (regular maintnance) that have over 400,000 miles and still running strong! Sure wish I had the V10 in my F250 instead of the 5.4. My 5.4 gets 8-9 MPG pulling a loaded 24ft trailer of pulling tractors. It stays hooked to the trailer almost all summer long.

Were averaging 23 just the truck. Add 28ft trailer and around 8000lbs of pullers and such and we only get 12mpg.

We used to have a V10 got 16mpg all the time but back then we only had a 16ft trailer, but that was a first gen lot less pollution crap

That is one nice looking truck. And congrats on the new little one in advance. Those Ford V-10's are nothing but trouble :ychain: . I wouldn't trade my 94 F-250  Super Duty for the world. That 460 will pull anything. It only gets about 12 mpg but, It will do that loaded or empty. And it is not near as pretty as yours. Coincidently, my Dakota gets the same mileage. Whats wrong with that picture  :eusa-think: ?

Nice truck, looks really good. I've heard the same on the mileage, I put a 153,000 on a 99' it ran great. Fuel mileage back then was 9-10 mile per. I almost bought a green one similar to yours but went with white. My 6.7 diesel right now is averaging 16 miles per. Awesome truck! Now enjoy it!

I have an 01 F250 with the V10...mileage isn't great, but I've had other big trucks that were a lot worse.

Mine has 168,000 trouble free miles on mine now, except it did spit a plug out on fathers day.

The plug threaded back in so I was lucky, a new coil pack & I was back in business.
