D-180 K-482 STATOR CHECK

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW    HOW TO VERIFY  THE CHARGING SYSTEM  OF MY D-180 .  K-482  ?

DOES THE ALTERNATOR   ( STATOR ) PROVIDE ENOUGH AMPS ?

HOW CAN I CHECK THE "STATOR "   AND  THE REGULATOR    AS WELL ? WITH BASIC EQUIPMENT  ( MULTIMETER )

WHO TO BLAME  FOR THE WEAK CHARGING ?  

HOW MANY AMPS ( THE BATTERY CAPACITY  SIZING )  SHOULD IT BE ?

HOW TO ?

Use the AC setting on your multimeter and check the two stator wires that go to the regulator.  Should get around 28 volts running a near full throttle.

 

If you have that stator is OK and a charging issue is either the regulator, the wiring form regulator to battery or the battery itself could be bad. 

 

What DC voltage do you measure at the battery with the engine off...what voltage with engine running???

IT has been a few time already that i charge the battery.

after a fews days of normal use suddenly in a morning it's dead .the battery look brand new (according to my salesman ,i know him well i thrust him )

i have a smart charger,it does charge it at 12.8 dc and it does hold his own charge after if i don't use it .i take the reading continuously;  a good sign.

tomorrow i will take the reading at the output of the stator.like you explain then i will let you know .

my stator ac voltage @ 3000 rpm  was  24.30 V  and at the battery running 12.24V and at the rectifier  14.64 dc

so my problem was at the connector on the dc side of the regulator , ALL FIX   THANKS TO YOU
