kpinnc 11,131 #2 Posted August 15, 2008 Is the drive pully on an 8 Speed the same size as the drive pully on a three speed Not neccesarily. Pulley sizes vary from one model to another. If you're switching trannies, and the tranny input shaft is the same size between the two, you should be able to just use both engine and tranny pullies. If not, list the model number of the tractor here. I'm sure we can help... Kevin
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #3 Posted August 15, 2008 3 speeds have a 3/4" input shaft. 6/8 speeds have a 5/8" input shaft. Most 3 speeds used a 4" diameter input pulley. Most 6/8 speeds use a (around 6 1/2" - but I forget the exact size) bigger pulley. There are a few exceptions. (like the B-80 4 speed/Commando 800 and the 867/1067/1267 models) If the engine pulley is 2 1/2 inch, the correct transmission pulley is 4". If the engine pulley is 4", the transmission takes the large pulley. If the engine pulley is 5 1/4", it is for a hydro. (875/876/877 are different though)
