TRAIL- BLAZER 7 SNOW BLOWER

Recommended Posts

illinilefttackle

Hi Guys- Been working on my next FOR SALE project for the Foster Kids- My 1969 TrailBlazer 7 Snow blower. Some of you may remember I got it along with my first Horse-C-125A. I then restored a 656 and borrowed the engine from the snow-blower to power it. I then replaced that engine with a good factory short block HH-60-which I just sold. SO- now I'm putting Tecy 7 Hp back in its home-the Trail-blazer- or at least trying. Anybody ever do this? Boy like working with snakes. Trying to get mounting plate lined up while getting belts in their places, Took most of this afternoon to find out -I haven't figured it out yet. Am I missing something? Besides the screw in my head- Anybody got any real neat trick for this? Help an old guy out here! When I do get it back together-it will be for sale-These things are snow clearing Son -of a-guns. Thanks-Al

This is the engine -new electrics being set with Dial Gauge-

I put DC electric start (new) on it-and a flood lite-

No good tricks to tell you Al, but I agree, those belts are a pain in the butt to get back on. I separated my Trailblazers a few times when I had them, and it was a shimmy and pry to get the belts off or on. You darn near have to have it back together before they slip on.

COWABUNGA! I got it!- It turns out to be the sequence you try to put things together that does it. You have to leave the small cam pulley off until the engine drops on its mounts-then you sneak it under its belt and on the shaft. Then tighten the set screw. The old girl is made like a Tank. When I get it back together it will be turn key and ready for deep snow! I will post a video of it in operation when it goes on sale!-Thanks-Al

I just got a chance to read this. Glad to see you got it. That IS how you do it. They can be a real pain. I have a spare AC starter set up if you were looking for one. I just sold the last snowblower I hopefully will ever own. It was a 7/24. I do have 1 tecky 7 left. Maybe I will find a donor carcass that needs one. Then I will truly be out of  the SB stuff.

Thanks-but I have a newly-rebuilt AC starter to sell too-I just like the handiness off the DC starter if it dies out in the snow-plus I can run my flood light. Al
