Lagrange 2 #1 Posted May 18, 2013 I went to Portland Thursday and met up with our very own deiselcowboy ( Matt ) to purchase a Wheel Horse 856 he had listed here on this site. I had never been to the swap meet at Portland, and really didnt know what to expect. First off...wow! What a wonderful swap meet. Second, I cant believe say enough about the people there...everyone I met was so nice. But let me tell you the thing that still has my head spinning...and my emotions on edge. I never met Matt before. Never talked to him before. He didnt know me from Adam. But when I got to Portland, I met with Matt, secured the transaction for the tractor and thought I would be on my way. Not so...Matt loaded my daughter and I along with his two sons into his trailer and pulled us around the grounds so we could get a up close look at the goings on at Portland. He explained everything to us, shared some personal experiences, talked about tractors, family, and life in general. He gave up a few hours of his own time to share the Portland experience with me, and made me feel like part of his family. He even helped to secure a deal for me with another vendor and saved me some money. When it was all over he even went to his own cooler and brought my daughter and I a cold drink. I loved the entire experience, and I will be returning to Portland. I just wanted everyone to know that we have members like Matt and that is what makes places like this such a wonderful place to spend web time! Thanks Matt! One heck of a guy! Eric Here are a few pics from our personal tour.....(phone pics are crappy)

decksetter 50 #5 Posted May 18, 2013 Glad to hear you enjoyed Portland, I didn't meet any members this year. I didn't make it up till today (Saturday) but came home with two tillers at what I thought was a good price. When the gates opened Wednesday morning they had 340 venders lined up waiting to get in. All in all 400 venders came in before that first wave was over.
953 nut 60,383 #6 Posted May 19, 2013 They don't have to be all shiney and polished to be beautifull. They just have to be what you love! I have had some great times at tractor shows with people I had never met before and may never see again. Thanks for sharing your phone photos.
