muuarren 0 #1 Posted May 11, 2013 Okay, so after replacing the carburetor I am off and running. I am having trouble with the throttle control, however. The first thing I noticed is that it does not like to stay at the top; it will for a few seconds but then drops back down. It will stay if I hold it, but it feels almost like a spring or some other force is attempting to lower it. Also, with it held all the way up it will suddenly rev up like the governor is being held open. I don't know how fast these engines are supposed to run, but to me it sounds too fast. When the throttle control is moved back down it does not come down immediately, but when it does it drops fast. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt
HokieAg07 129 #2 Posted May 12, 2013 Sounds like the rivet on the throttle cable lever is loose. Ive taken vice grips and successfully squeezed the rivet to make the cable tight again so it wouldnt fall down while operating.
