bearings and races in utility trailer

Recommended Posts

So I got a 6.5x12 bigtex landscape trailer used, to use just this summer, When I jacked up the tires I notice one side had some bearing noise. So I swapped out all the bearing with new ones. I had them on the shelf from a previous project along with trailer grease and bearing buddys. The only thing I did not have were races....I did not replace them....the ones in there looks ok, no grooves, just regreased and reused with the new bearings. Anyone think this is a major issue. I know the proper way is to repack or replace all, but I was trying to do this on a budget, she goes does the road straight and quiet now.

I have been working non stop finally have a few days off to get ready for the baby...the beautiful weather is killing me when I go back to work...miss tractor time..

I figured the trailer would be ok if anything the bearings would wear premature...but a while down the road. If I still have it i will have changed the hubs by then ha.
