Villers 2 Man Chainsaw

Hello all,

I thought I would finally get this old chain saw out and get it going (again) I've been meaning to do it for a while now... Anyway got round to doing it, did the thing I do best took it apart lol, had it all in pieces put it back together again, and it came back into life started second pull, don't you just love it when life's that easy, aha (takes two people to start it though) so I had this old tree stump up the back of the garden and i thought I'd give it ago, didn't even need to sharpen the Teeth on the chain they went through it like butter, I was amazed, even though its a two man job... :o

Now for the sad part.... It's a shame I don't have a use for it, it would be nice to get It back into working everyday life, but sadly for now, she will just have to sit in the shed until I or someone else finds a use for it....

Looking at it, I think I'd rather be on the heavier end!

Hey,

Mark the exact weight is 78lbs (5.571) Stone. It sure does kill the upper arms :o ........

And yes, me too I wouldn't fancy holding the chain end just incase it kicked back or somthing...

I'm not a chainsaw fan as the thought of using one scares the life out of me, but I do like the vintage look of that one... Maybe you don't need to use it Charlie, just clean and polish it up and make a feature of it in your house..   It's very pleasing to look at after all :D

That's one very interesting saw. I was given an old one a while back. About the same size and with a three foot blade. Unfortunately it was a none runner and spares no longer available.

Yes Ian, I was thinking maybe just keep it as a show piece, strip it down clean it up and give it a few coats of paint, a service and maybe even mount it to a trolley, one of those stationary engine trolleys, and just run it every now and again, maybe even take it to shows and tow it behind my horse :P

Stormin, yes I agree parts are very hard to find. Shame you couldn't get yours running.

From one extreme to the other. This one might have a hard time cutting the chips from your saw with an awsome 12 inch bar. It's part of my O&R collection of gas powered tools. Kind of reminds me of a clothes iron.
