Onan P216 - Flywheel Cover Removal

Recommended Posts

TheeNickster

Hello Everyone,

I just picked up a '90 416-8 a couple weeks ago. I am suspecting my voltage regulator has gone south. I was trying to pull the flywheel cover off and removed the obvious bolts on the sides, and one on the bottom. I noticed the choke cable assembly is also attached. With all those bolts removed, the cover still seems to fastened tight. I was just curious if there are other fasteners elsewhere that I may have missed.

Just figured I'd make my first post on here before I got carried away and started tearing stuff off that I didn't really have to.

Glad to be a new member, and thanks in advance for any pointers.

Just wondering why you want to remove the flywheel cover to replace the regulator. It is easily accessible.

Voltage regulator sits on top of the engine tin at the back of the engine.

Do you mean the ignition control module?, which is indeed behind the flywheel.
