KC9KAS 4,744 #2 Posted April 21, 2013 A number of 01-17KS02 is a 1980 C-175 Twin. 17hp Kohler, automatic Sundstrand transmission. Does this sound like your tractor? Where are my manners.........

david wheatley 2 #5 Posted April 21, 2013 It is an auto, but not a twin.if I knew how to upload aphoto from an iphone , I wouldput a picture up!
KC9KAS 4,744 #6 Posted April 21, 2013 Now that I see you are from UK, that number you posted may be for a single cylinder machine. I am not an expert on these GT's, but from reading here on Red Square, I realize the "foreign" WH's are just a little different when it comes to model numbers. If you can get a few pictures posted, I am sure someone else can tell you exactly what you have.
Don1977 605 #7 Posted April 21, 2013 The engine must have been changed. What engine is on it now? And does it still have the shaker plate under the engine?

Anglo Traction 761 #12 Posted April 22, 2013 hi David, Firstly Thanks for the Pics, it look's in pretty good shape and repainted, but Yep!, someone's replaced the Engine with one from a different application. The Engine look's like 10/12 or 14hp? solid mount unit. The give away is the External Grass Screen, the Engine shroud wraparound on the Cylinder Fins, not usually seen on UK WHs that I've seen and the standard K series Throttle linkage is missing. Not that any of that is an issue. Assuming you want to know what spec the motor it is, have you got any Numbers on the Engine we can work with?. SousaKerry 503 #13 Posted April 22, 2013 Yep it lost a few ponies along the way, not surprising as the original KT-17 that it was equipped with was a problem child and liked to blow rods through the side of the block when it got mad.
Don1977 605 #14 Posted April 22, 2013 Count the head bolts 9 bolts is 10, 12 or 14. the decal is missing or painted over no help there. you could remove the head and measure the cylinder 3 1/4" is a 10 HP, 3 3/8" is a 12 HP, and 3 1/2" is a 14 HP. If you have 10 head bolts it is a 16 HP.
Kelly 1,033 #15 Posted April 22, 2013 Looks like they welded up the twin muffler and reused it on the single.
