Docwheelhorse 2,740 #2 Posted April 14, 2013 The founder of Redsquare is here in Connecticut... suprisingly enough he doesnt use the site much.... I forgot his name---Sparky knows I think. Its been several years since I have talked to the originator. Tony
JimD 3,347 #3 Posted April 14, 2013 The original founder of RedSquare is whchris. He isn't very active on the site anymore, and hasn't been for a long time. He did however leave us in very capable hands with Karl (Nylyon) at the helm.
tunahead72 2,539 #4 Posted April 15, 2013 I don't know much about the early days of RedSquare, but there is a history thread here. It's a fun read, like so many other threads on this forum:
nylyon-(Admin) 7,878 #5 Posted April 28, 2013 As Ed posted, there is the post on some of the RS history. Yes, Chris (whchris) started whtractor. A short time later I began managing the forum, organizing, enhancing etc. The original forum whtractor is gone, but the data from that forum was mostly saved and recovered into a series of *new* forum attempts. The current RedSquare as you see today was founded, designed and built, by me utilizing the posts and members data extracted from the original whtractor (which has since been obliterated from the internet!) Technical ownership of the hosting contract, software licenses, skin fees / licenses, add-on component licenses, maintenance etc are owned by me, but financed by the Supporting Members of the community who are also responsible for the continuation of the bill paying around here. RedSquare is not hosted on any *free* sites, but on paid servers which we purchase a virtual environment from.
