23 Reo 221 #1 Posted April 8, 2013 I am considering putting the motor in my 72 Raider 14 into my 84 C-165.Will this be a difficult swap? Is there anything I should be concerned about? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, David
oldredrider 2,548 #2 Posted April 8, 2013 The Raider has a wider oil pan and mounts directly to the frame. The C-165 uses a cradle type mount. At the least, you would have to remove the cradle and mounts and possibly drill new engine mounting holes in the frame.
ericj 1,576 #3 Posted April 8, 2013 remove the cradle mounts and should be a direct bolt, the holes should be there already. the wiring may be different, the raider should be a trigger fired ignition and the C165 is points. some body with more knowledge should chime in. the raider 14 is a fairly rare tractor though so think about what you do carefully most raiders were 12 hp or less. very few 14. just my 2 cents worth eric j
