So I need to replace my center spindle in my 42 inch side discharge deck. The threads where the blade bolts on are severly damaged by the previous owner. I call to get a price from my local dealer 200 and some odd dollars. Thats alot of money. He said it came with the double pully also. Any cheaper alteratives? The decks model # is 78345 Thanks

Yes you can replace the spindle shaft only.

Are your spindle shafts approx. 5/8" dia, metric bearings, 3/4" blade end, non keyed, and an o ring between bearing and pulley or 3/4" keyed, parts shows first. Anyway classified add expired and have 3 of ist (used), center pulley also and 1 of 2nd (NOS). pic of first follows:
