E Tank Techniques

Recommended Posts

groundhog47

Sorta experimenting :eusa-think: with what think is e-tank. Am using battery charger with neg on part and pos on metal angles hooked together. First run or so after 24 hrs+ some positive results on battery charger with  low amperage setting. Does a higher amperage setting on battery charger cause an unwanted effect? Tried it about 10 mins, increased activity, duh. Have seen several parts done by members here and they appear to come out great. Hope don't have it backwards! :text-thankyouyellow:

You have it hooked up right. I dont think the higher amperage will do anything unwanted it should just make it work quicker.  When I had mine setup I hooked it up to the biggest battery I had available and then put the battery charger on it on the highest setting it had.  I dont know what kind of charger you have but some of the newer ones have a tendency to switch from d/c to a/c when it thinks the battery is near fully charged and might make the E tank run backwards if it does.  Everything I read about setting them up suggested finding a manual type charger instead of an automatic one.  Hope this helps.

Thanks Stewart, YES helps, will give a higher set amp. a longer test run. BC is small "Ever Start" that have had quite a few yrs, bought a cheapo Harbour Freight unit, will charge a battery, but seems unfunctional in solution with all hooked up. I used just a red vinegar on small parts years ago, no BC and it worked but goodness how many galsons would it take for sumpti big, ha!
