Stigian 1,234 #1 Posted August 9, 2008 Why a sad day you ask? It was sad because after a lot soul searching and drinking i have decided to sell one of my fleet so i can afford to finish my workshack extension But fear not dear readers, its not one of the WH's that's going but my Trike It will be sad to see it go, but when needs must and all that... Oh and the extra space will be nice Anyway, the poor trike was dragged from its resting place and given a good coat of looking at and a fair bit of cleaning. Only a few jobs to do on it before it went up on ebay, sort out a fuel leak and make another sprocket to go on the trans, and charge the battery. That's enough rambling on from me, the more i type about the trike the sadder i am about it going Here's a few photo's of the trike being recovered after the trans spat it's new sprocket off The local Trike recovery service turning up Hitched up and ready to go.. The trike not me and Garry Rollin, rollin, rollin. Made it back to base
Rollerman 290 #2 Posted August 9, 2008 Ian always a tuff decision to let something go for more room or hobby cash. I've been in that boat too.... But think of the bright side of things...once the trike is gone & the work shack is done....you'll have more time on your hands. See where I'm getting at here....thats all good for the Red Square members who really dig your pics/vids of your creativity & fab work in progress. Never know Ian....it may come back around too...or something better may be built!
Sparky-(Admin) 23,130 #3 Posted August 9, 2008 Will someone be able to use it "legally" on the road? Is so I bet its an easy sell with gas prices way up now. Mike........

Aww , your just saying that Stephen Seriously though Im glad, happy and honored that you like what i get up to. guys I don't think the trike will ever find it's way back here, but i do have the Wolf garten kart project hanging on the workshack wall awaiting finishing. It should be quite fun with the Gpz305 engine in it I guess it could be made street legal Mike, but it would need a lot of work to get it there. Rear brakes would be a good start as well as tires that don't say "not for highway use" on the side :banghead:
Stigian 1,234 #5 Posted August 19, 2008 Little update for you here guy's. Well, despite the trike having 37 watchers and a total of 1570 visits on ebay, the trike is still here Its not that the trike didnt sell, i guess it just did not want to go to a new home and showed it by stripping 3 teeth off the sprocket that puts the power into the trans when the gent turned up to collect The good new's is, the ebay buyer still wants the trike.... once ive fixed it The even better news is after spending a few hours looking through my parts pile/boxes/tins etc looking for another westwood brake disk to make the new sprocket from, i found these buried in a tin, in a box With a bit of work the smaller 8 tooth sprocket will go on the trans (once i have ground it a bit more even all round), and the 11 tooth can go as a spare So guys, keep your fingers crossed that i dont break anything else on the trike and it goes to its new owner this coming weekend Oh.... the buyer had told his wife he was coming to pick up a lawnmower :banghead:
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,599 #6 Posted August 19, 2008 Ian, I'm hoping it all goes well for you. That sounds like a dedicated buyer you have there. Most would of just walked away and never gotten back with you. B)
Stigian 1,234 #7 Posted August 19, 2008 B) Terry The buyer (Clive) is a real Gent, and put it down to "just one of those things" Clive wasnt even looking for a trike on fleabay, he was looking for a ride on mower So... after showing him my WH's, can you guess what he is looking for now :banghead:
Stigian 1,234 #8 Posted August 27, 2008 The day i have been kinda dreading finally arrived today Yep, the trike has gone to a new home after more than a few breakages Just in case your reading this Clive, for buying my trike and for still wanting after the trans sprocket spat it's teeth off. Bye bye trike..... sniff sniff (tearful smiley) On the upside of things, i now have a few
