Calling ALL northern Michiganders!!!

It looks like I have to travel to Michigan Tech (Houghton) for work next week.  Do any of you have suggestions as to where I should eat, or places to visit while I'm there.  I won't have a ton of time to "horse" around    but I do enjoy driving around and seeing the sites..

Don't know much about that area, but if your ever up to the Traverse City or Kalkaska area I could help you out. Stay out of the Indian casinos, their rigged worse than vagas.

Stop in Mackinaw City (lower peninsula at the bridge) and learn about the building of the bridge and if your into history, the museum. Buy some fudge and pasties.

We have a few civil engineers in our office that went to school there.  There's only one thing to do up there during the winter...

Catch up on old movies, not much up there until June.  

Snow Sports, Drinking and Pastie Dinners are about it this time of the year.

The only real life there is around campus, if you're college age.

And they all talk funny and fast (so the words don't freeze in their mouth).

The few girls there are wonderful, 'cause I'm happily married to one.

Back in the late 80's a couple of my buddies and I decided to drive around the lake one night and stop at every bar along the way to drink one beer at each one. If I remember right there were 27 bars at that time. I wouldn't suggest doing that. By the way we didn't make to all of them.
