Vinylguy 4,666 #1 Posted February 10, 2013 Here is a poor quality picture of the attachments that come with the 16 horse auto I have been dealing on since last April. They look to be in better shape than the tractor. Once I get it to the shop and see if the tiller is in good working order I will decide what to do with them. I really only need the Blade for fun in the snow. the tractors paint is not good but He says it ran and mowed great when he took it in on trade 2 years ago. It has been sitting in one of his storage sheds ever since.
Vinylguy 4,666 #2 Posted February 10, 2013 It looks to me like the motion control lever is going to be a bit unhandy. especially if it will not hold position when running.
Wishin4a416 2,189 #3 Posted February 10, 2013 Wow! You hit the jackpot. very nice looking tractor for its age.
refracman 166 #4 Posted February 10, 2013 Nice score! The hydro control does take a bit to get use to. But if you don't like it you can either install the 75 and up handle or a foor control. If its slipping while in use, thats just a adjustment, which is fairly easy.
sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted February 10, 2013 I actually prefer that style of motion control. Probably because my first Horse was a 14 Auto with that style of shifter. I used that for 4 years before my second horse came along, and I've never been able to get used to the (auto) shifter being anywhere else. As Refracman said, you can tighten up the tension on it fairly easily if you need to.
Vinylguy 4,666 #6 Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks guys. Martin is not to far away from me and when I get her home he will give it a good inspection. Cant wait to get the tank replaced and get her running. (Thanks Mike ) I am leaving the shop now to head to the local mall. The annual tractor show is on and our fallen heroes memorial is on display. will be on line there and upload some tractor photos.
546cowboy 301 #7 Posted February 10, 2013 That is in really pretty good shape. Even the seat looks good and those are hard to find in that condition. I had one of those that was really nice when I sold it. With a tiller, snow blade and disc ( I have been wanting one of those) looks like a nice pick up.
jay in nc 209 #8 Posted February 10, 2013 very nice tractor terry. you should be able to recoup your costs by selling the tiller, clevis hitch & discs, heck you might end up with a FREE tractor! if you were closer i'd be interested in the tiller. 855ownerJoel 32 #10 Posted February 10, 2013 Sweet purchase, and it has the disc that I have been dreaming of and a tiller. Looks like a garden is in your future. Enjoy that one!
artfull dodger 329 #11 Posted February 10, 2013 Nice score, a hydro will spoil you once you get used to it. Makes you wonder why you enjoyed rowing the gears. The only time a hydro can get tiresome is long duration at a plowing event. They need more constant adjustment to deal with varying ground conditions whereas a gear drive you pick the best gear for the condition and sit back for the ride. However for mowing, snow removal, i prefer a hydro drive. I find that I can ease her started when backing up and not slip a tire as easily as I did with a gear drive. Less scratches in the concrete and less wear on my chains. Congrats on the score!! Mike
