Need some help with 98 GMC Suburban

Recommended Posts

I need some help to remove the windshield washer pump on my 98 suburban. It is the front pump. It is under the reservoir and I cannot get it out. I removed the 2 mounting bolts that I can find. I also removed the bolt that goes through the front header that looks like it goes into an indent in the front of the reservoir. I cannot lift it out. Am I missing something? The next thing is to remove the inner fender to possibly get at it. I just can't believe I may have to dis-assemble the whole left front side to get at a $16.00 part. Hopefully I am wrong. Any of you GM gurus have an Idea? I may end up giving the wife a squirt bottle full of washer fluid if I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Pat

Thanks guys. Refracman, I did all the stuff in the video. But, still couldn't get it out :banghead: . Turns out, there is a plastic dowel on the bottom of the tank that goes through a rubber grommet in the inner fender  . It was stuck very well in that Da$n thing :laughing-rofl: . So now? NO rubber grommet in the inner fender. Pump replaced. All is right with the world again, Mama has a windshield washer again. So, I get to live another day :greetings-clappingyellow:
