thehorse 221 #1 Posted February 5, 2013 Can anyone give me an idea of what might be causing a loud whine from my manual pto on 416. It gets louder with increased RPM's and happens whether under a load or not. I took the bell off and greased bearings inside and put it back together but helped very little. KATO 115 #3 Posted February 5, 2013 There is also a sealed bearing where the engagement hoop and shaft attach on the front side of the bell it is likely bad also. i would replace both ,and the inner race. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

thehorse 221 #5 Posted February 5, 2013 Probably just a good idea to replace all of them and not have to worry about them for 20 years. I assumed it was the PTO because when it was engaged, the noise increased. Good idea to run without the bell and engaged.
