jhondrogen 0 #1 Posted August 3, 2008 I've been searching this forum looking for information on taking apart the clutch that engages the mower deck on my Wheel Horse 12. I'm also looking for a manual on my model. Any ideas? Thanks.
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #2 Posted August 3, 2008 B) If you already know how to swing the bail out of the way to remove the mower drive belt, you should be able to pull the PTO pulley off. I don't recall a 1973 having the PTO brake, but if yours does, remove the two bolts securing it to the bracket on the engine first. Once the pulley is removed, you will see the four bolts holding the clutch disc and inner bearing race to the engine pulley. Remove the four bolts and two retainers, and slide the clutch disc out over the inner bearing race. The inner bearing race slips over the crankshaft and may or may not come off easily. Buzz 502 #4 Posted August 4, 2008 I'd also like to add . You can order a manual for your 1973 tractor from Toro at: https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm Enter your model number as 1-0465 and put "riding mower" for product You can download a couple of other manual from that screen If you want to see an exploded view of your tractor go to https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro and put 1-0465 for model number. While your getting manuals, get one for your engine http://www.kohlerengines.com/common/resources/tp_2379.pdf Enjoy your tractor.
