6wheeler 669 #1 Posted January 4, 2013 Hi guys. I have a question. I have a rather large wood splitter. It boasts a Wisconsin R series 2 cylinder Diesel engine made by Ruggerini. I call it the beast because that is exactly what it is. I probably should have put this in OB but, oh well. Anyway, has anyone ever used one of these engines before? The model # is TRD212050. Serial # 714002R. The frame and such looks like it was made for the military. Maybe it was something else that was made into a splitter. The cylinder on this animal is huge. It only has about an 18" throw but the ram is app. 3" in diameter. If I can get it running I would bet it could split steel. Any info on this engine would be helpful. When I get it home I will take some pics of it. It really looks cool. I think the name of it should be overkill.
stevasaurus 23,274 #2 Posted January 4, 2013 The old Wisconsin book that I have does not cover diesel engines...only "S" models (4 stroke horizontal gas). If no one here can help you, I suggest you go to your local library and check out some of the Chilton Manuals and what ever else they may have. You may be surprised what they have on the shelves. Sure would like to see some pictures of what you have.
