Mule drive bearing

Recommended Posts

Stepney

Hello again, and happy new year! Well, today the mule drive let go on my 1974 B-80. It has the cast front idlers, and I did get the bearings out. They don't appear to be original as they are made in Japan, by POLORON, and are number 967401. I can't find ANYTHING to do with the name or part number! I have read here about replacing these, but I've never found the part numbers. Does anyone know them? Thanks in advance.

Spenser.

As TT's dims & prt nbr says. You can also search for General GB-22612-88 , which is a part number I have on the original old bearings I removed from my 74 Mule drive.

There were 2 for sale on Bay of E a while back. but for me the shipping costs were prohibitive.

Regards

The 1630-2RS are only a couple bucks each on Ebay.

Odd, I measured my bearings and got .575 ID, .750 ID, and .675 on the side. Maybe I messed something up?

Bringing this up as I'm putting a mule drive together...what I knocked out were POLORON 967401 which are NLA. NAPA and others typically cross reference those to a National bearing 203 or 2033 something but those aren't 3/4". SKF 6203-C3 is what you need. Pull the seals and repack them though :handgestures-thumbupright: The pic below is what they came to me with for grease. Unsatisfactory if you ask me and lest I awaken @peter lena

@ineedanother  every one of my 6203 bearings , have the lucas  xtra hd , green chassis grease , for bombproof  smooth / quiet operation , all my  mule drives , are driven by  , pto  inner needle bearing , fresh outside cone bearing (  napa ) . my frequent reference to  how easily does the  pto  down drive belt move ?  is for real , that quickly verifies hoe easily  its going to spin up , another thing  I do  is to just lightly engage it , never just slam it on , personally marvel  at the  pto lever clutch disk replacement . no screaming , spin up at all . always look for  wide grease shields , makes removal , clean out  / regrease  easy . BTW  have you enhanced the pto lever start , next to  battery tray ?  when I  deal with a  REPEDITIVE PROBLEM ,  I  take it apart  , stage by stage , find / change  / improve  , the issue , initially  , you don't even , see it  , but its function is amazingly smooth , easy ,  pete
