duke 49 #1 Posted December 5, 2012 I recently bought some parts and part of the collection was this Ford LGT165 with a K-341 16 hp but I can't identify the piston, almost looks like an Onan, any help would be greatly appreciated.
rmaynard 14,939 #2 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) Measure the diameter. Looks like a K341 C-Style piston. Don't think it's a Wheel Horse Onan since it has an oil slinger on the rod cap. Edited December 5, 2012 by rmaynard
duke 49 #3 Posted December 5, 2012 I also found out it is a Ford LGT 165 Kohler k-341 16hp- very, very early piston and the wristpin is centered. I hope to use this on my rebuild? C-style you say, can it still be used then? The rings look good and it came out of a standard bore?
rmaynard 14,939 #4 Posted December 5, 2012 Check the Kohler service manual. It explains the differences between the A, C, and D styles pistons. If you want to use it in your engine, I would have the bore mic'd and the piston measured by a reputable machine shop.
