Paint or powdercoat?

Recommended Posts

trainman

I have a 1984 211-5 I am slowly restoring I am not much of a painter with spray cans. Now I am a novice with this department. When you guys want to repaint a solid part to get the old paint off do you acid dip it or have it sandblasted? I don't have the right tools to strip it my self. Any advice from you guys would be great! Thanks!

We did this over the summer, first we used acid dip what a pain in the a@#. We ended up just sandblasting the whole tractor and having it powdercoated. It was more money but in the long run it will last much longer.

Sand blast 'n powder coat! Expensive but, WOW.

Because I use my Horses, RustOleum Regal Red works for me.

After the Regal, crystal clear also from Rustoleum.

I like the satin white for wheels unless they're silver of course.

Silver DupliColor wheel paint from the auto supply store works fine.

Decals from redoyourhorse.com, the Vinyl Guy. Excellent decals.
