tiller tines need help making new ones

i have been thinking of making new tines for my 30" tiller i have found tons of troy built horse tines. but they are a different size the are 1 3/16 wide vs 2" but other than that i can make it fit,but will the size differance be a big deal . thanks

I would think if you replaced ALL the tines with the same size, the size wouldn't matter too much.....This make sence??

Welderman, Try using some old mowing deck blades and weld up your old tines. I saw this tip a few years back and it works pretty well.

I looked at the clean cutter ones and there nice but a little pricey for how many I need I have everything needed to build the hubs but wasn't sure if the size thong is a big deal they will be the same as the originals in everyway but the tine width thank for th help

Welderman,

Those Troy built tines were probably powered by a 5 or 8 hp motor.

Whereas the wheel horse tiller could be run by up to a 20 horse motor.

I suppose it wouldn't mater unless you hit something!

you could use the HD troy bilt tines they are heaver made. The biggest thing would be the height of the tine compared to the WH tine so you can get the same cutting depth
