D Snow Blower

So, I'm picking up a new snowblower for my D180. What do I need to know about these suckers other than the fact that I might have to park my truck outside the garage?

TommyG, just saw your post. I have one on my D-200 (same unit) and I can tell ya it's a beast! Once properly mounted it'll tear through the snow like crazy. Run at full throttle and set a steady pace into the snow. The heavier/wetter snow will make you move forward slowly. A light fluffy snow will allow you to proceed a little faster. Just don't choke the snow thrower. If it jams up release the clutch immediately, shut down and clean it out. If you store it in a heated garage move it outside and let the snow chute cool to the same temp at the air. A warm chute will clog up very quickly because the snow starts to melt and refreeze in the chute. Have fun!

They take up more room when they are not attached.....you'll think it looks so big then put it on the tractor and by golly...it looks good.....see if I can drum up a pic....

Sounds great guys! Yeah, I know they look huge in person. I'm a little worried about that. Even still, looking forward to picking it up Saturday. Found one on Craigslist in great condition! Looking forward to a little TLC to make it shine. With my size drive, I could probably get away with just my blade without too much trouble. But why push it when you can throw it? My family thinks I'm crazy.

I thought I read somewhere that the gearbox takes all purpose grease. Does that sound right? Anyone know of a manual on RS or anywhere that I can download? I can't seem to find one.

All purpose grease is correct....for a manual....stay tuned.....another Dys-D-Member will contact you most likely...lol
